This Friday & Saturday I will be in my hometown of Rockford, Illinois selling my work at Frost & Friends, which is an amazingly-fun shopping experience. If you are local & can come out to join us, I would love to meet you & a portion of all proceeds are going to fund art scholarships for students entering college. The fabulous Lisa Frost is the artist behind Frost & Friends and I had the honor of getting to know her through our relationship with Demdaco. I hope YOU win! Thanks for passing the word along & enjoy! Grace & Peace, Julie {Art available here}
Rejoice IN THE LORD always! Note it does not say, “Rejoice in your circumstances or friends or money or house or job or status….” but IN the Lord for who He is and what He has done. This is my sunshine girl when she was 4 years old & it’s one of my favorite photos of her as she was so free & full of joy. She actually kept falling down the hill as she would lean so far back & it was a hilarious photo shoot. Now she is 8 & just wait till later in the week to see how she’s grown. So sweet.

“Young Man” Psalm 119 is one of my favorites…of course, I love all of your work! The lambs, the eggs, the newborn little feet, the adoption series…I could just go on and on! I love your new colored work as well. You are a talented and amazing woman! God bless you! {Art available here} Behold! I am making ALL THINGS new. What a verse full of encouragement. When I read it, I think of the redemptive power Jesus offers us, to make our lives new in Him. I also think of springtime & the buds, blooms, and birds’ nests full of new life. This little robin’s nest was sheltered on our cousin’s front porch {and the mama bird was so protective, they could not use their front door for a month lest she attack them!} It’s Giveaway Time! Earlier this fall, I introduced my new color line of inspirational art & today I am giving away one 12×18 Revelation 21 All Things New fine art print.

Hello friends! Here is a sunshine-filled, beautiful reminder that THIS is the day the Lord has made we will REJOICE and be glad in it!
When I think about this verse, I ponder a few key phrases, the first of which is “this” … THIS is the day. Today not tomorrow. If you are like me, many of you live in the “what if” or “someday”. I remember when my kids were newborns nursing through the night & all I could focus on was the someday when they would sleep, as opposed to the then & now of those quiet, tender, private moments I had snuggling my babies. So, think about this: God has given you TODAY. He does not guarantee tomorrow. What will YOU do with this gift of today that you have been given? I pray we all view it as the gift that it is & make the most of it to share love with others.
The other word I focus on in this verse is “WILL”. We WILL rejoice and be glad in it. It is a call to worship & worship is a choice, even often despite how we may feel emotionally. It takes a special mindset to capture this heart, one that is full of thanksgiving and praise toward our creator. It is a choice to worship and rejoice despite hard circumstances, simply because we have hope in Jesus & His redemptive work in our lives.
I chose this image, which I shot this past summer in Grand Island, New York just miles from Niagra Falls, because the sunlight was so rich & warm and it reminded me of that full-of-life feeling when you break the morning in joy. The flowers are springing up out of the prairie grasses and they can turn toward the sun and be fed or they can get choked out by the weeds and worries of this life.
I wanted it bright & cheery because I for one am NOT a morning person and I would love that sunny motivation to rejoice and be glad that I get the gift of one more day of LIFE!
