Christmas Open House Tomorrow!

YOU ARE INVITED TO OUR FIRST EVER CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE!

When: Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 10 a.m. — 2 p.m.

Where: Our Home

 

You will get to meet my adorable kids & they will be selling handmade Christmas ornaments. My Favorite Little Mister will be selling origami. The big kids will be performing piano as Pumpkin-Poos will most likely start dancing around. Mommy will be selling her Life Verse Design artwork & Daddy will be selling yummy baked goodies.

 

SHOP WITH A CAUSE!

The reason behind this sale:  My favorite Little Mister has created 2 fundraisers in the past {1 for our Compassion child & 1 to adopt owls at Willowbrook} and this year he thought up us doing a family sale where we all use our gifts & talents to help raise money for the church plant we are a part of. So, ALL of the profits from the kid’s sale & bake sale are going to our church & a large portion of the Life Verse Design sales will be going directly to our church. If any of you are in or near Chicago, come be blessed by our church, Church of the Beloved!

Meet My Nephews {Julie Chen Photography}

At Thanksgiving last week, I was able to photograph several family members, including my brother & his family.

I LOVE how they turned out.

There was magical light & a sprinkling of snow & 3 very handsome young men making me smile.2013-12-04_0002

I cannot get over how every time I go home, my oldest nephew has grown so much!

He is taller than me now & I think taller than Sam {though he claims they are equal!}2013-12-04_0003

These young men are not only handsome, but they are also kind, fun, smart, athletic, and a joy to be around.

Christmas Gift Guide: Family Gifts {Inspirational Art by Life Verse Design}

I thought it would be fun to create a little “Christmas Gift Guide” of my work to help you shop 🙂

The “Sisters” art is one of my all time best-selling pieces & the “Daughter” art is just soooo sweet.

{Though I have heard moms exclaim, “Yeah, I WISH I could say that…someday I will!”

In the “Grandma” art, I decided to show one of my family’s all time favorite activities: reading.

The “Grandpa” art is another favorite of mine… it was an “AHA!” moment to come up with the image of a car,

as I know from personal experience not ALL Grandpas like golf, beer, or baseball

{which is what is on most Grandpa art or cards!}

The car is special to me, as it belongs to my aunt. Sweet story: my uncle bought this car for her 60th birthday

as a replica of her first car ever. How sweet is that?!

Puppy Love {Downers Grove, Hinsdale Family Photographer}

This family was SO fun to photograph & JUST LOOK AT THAT PUPPY!!!!

Oh, the cuteness. A boy & his dog. Ahhhh….

The funniest part of this shoot was at one point we had tried “containing” the pup while I was just shooting the family & the puppy got loose & ran at me, defending his family already.

Since I am allergic to dogs & therefore not used to being around many dogs, it freaked me out. It made all of us laugh.
